Below are some of the prompts that we’ve used for our discussions over the years:
- Prayer:
- How do you pray?
- What role does giving thanks play in your prayers?
- What role does praise play in your prayer?
- What is God’s glory?
- Do you know why we ask for things in Jesus’ name?
- In the scriptures, how does Jesus’ relationship with the Father look?
- Do your prayers seek God’s glory or yours?
- Are your prayers rooted in obedience?
- Will anything change in your prayers after this module?
- Faith:
- What is faith?
- When should we have faith?
- Does faith have a finish line?
- How can we grow our faith?
- How do you practice faith in your life?
- Love from a biblical standpoint:
- What part of speech is love in your opinion?
- How does Christ define love?
- How does he demonstrate that same love?
- How do we show love to our brothers and sisters?
- Do you understand your love language? Contrary to popular opinion, it’s not always black and white. Our needs may change over time.
- What is God’s love language?
- The decline of church membership and affiliation:
- What do you think has caused the decline?
- Have people lost faith in God, the traditional church structure, or what the church stands for?
- Can anything be done to turn things around?
- If so, what?
- Post Covid, many people attend church services through social media now. Is physical presence in a church or church membership still relevant?
- What can we do to change the declination trend besides traditional evangelizing methods?
- Blessings:
- What does the word blessing mean to you?
- When do you think about blessings in your life?
- How has God manifested blessings for you?
- Social justice:
- What is social justice from a biblical perspective?
- Last month, we discussed love amongst other Christians and what part of speech love is, but is it reserved only for those who look like us and believe like us, or is there a higher obligation and duty?
- What is the obligation of the Christian when they see wrong being committed to non-Christians? Is it prayer alone?
- If you believe that the church has a role in social justice, in what ways has it succeeded, and in what ways has it failed? What can we do differently going forward?
- How have your views on social justice changed, and will you do anything differently going forward?
