Mission

The mission of By His Spirit is to foster deeper, Christ-centered fellowship among men within the Body of Christ. We believe that men have a God-given role as spiritual leaders, protectors, and servants—within their families, their churches, and their communities. Scripture calls men to glorify God, to love their wives as Christ loves the Church, to live in reverent obedience, and to take responsibility for their own spiritual growth.

We affirm that true spiritual maturity is not achieved in isolation but through meaningful connection—first with God, and then with one another. Just as iron sharpens iron, we believe that Christian men are strengthened, encouraged, and refined through authentic fellowship, accountability, and shared discipleship.

By His Spirit exists to provide resources, connection points, and a space for men to grow in faith together. Our hope is that the content, tools, and stories shared on this site will inspire men to pursue deeper relationships with God and with their brothers in Christ—by His Spirit, and for His glory.

More About the Author

In the book, The Power of Three: Nurturing Male Christian Fellowship, you’ll find that my fellowship partners and I had certain goals that we encouraged each other to pursue. One of my goals was to start writing, which I have. Another of my goals was to eventually move outside the United States. I love to travel and the thought of living in another country is something that has fascinated me since at least the early 2000s. Initially, I thought of moving to Panama. However, over the years, as I came to discover more of the world, I made a list of the things I desired in a home or surrogate country, and I eventually narrowed my list of seven or eight countries down to one. But that’s a story for another time-another blog. I’m currently sitting at a café writing the content for this site. Everything I could have hoped for, I have. God has continuing to pour out His blessings upon my life.

My two fellowship partners also had goals that they achieved. That’s the benefit of accountability, encouragement, and nurturing. As mentioned in The Power of Three: Nurturing Male Christian Fellowship, one of my fellowship partners is pursuing a Master of Theological Studies at Gordon Conwell Theological University. My other fellowship partner is mentoring young people and has been planning his first trip out of the country. We continue to grow in Christ.
