Today Is Not Tomorrow. This Year Is Not Next Year.

There are moments in life that feel like dead ends.

You’ve prayed. You’ve waited. You’ve hoped. But the breakthrough hasn’t come. The door hasn’t opened. The pain hasn’t passed.

And in those moments, it’s easy to believe that today defines your tomorrows. That next year and the years beyond will be the same as this year. That nothing is changing, and maybe nothing ever will.

But that’s a lie.

Scripture tells us something radically different:

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5

Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us that ‘to everything there is a season.’ That includes seasons of sorrow, silence, and struggle—but also seasons of healing, harvest, and new beginnings.

The enemy wants you to confuse your season with your destiny. He wants you to believe that where you are now is where you’ll always be.

But the story God has written for you is still unfolding. He’s the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). That means today’s chapter is not the final one. There are so many more chapters ahead.

Think of Joseph in the pit. Think of David in the cave. Think of Ruth in the field.

Every one of them faced a ‘today’ that looked hopeless—yet God was working behind the scenes. And He still is.

It’s okay to feel weary. It’s okay to admit you’re disappointed. But don’t let discouragement become the place where you live. It is not your destiny.

God doesn’t abandon His people in the wilderness. He leads them through it.

“I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:19

The place you’re in right now may feel quiet—but that doesn’t mean it’s empty.

Character is being formed. Faith is being stretched. Roots are going deeper. New muscles are being developed. New things are being planted.

What feels like delay may be divine preparation.

So keep moving. Keep praying. Keep listening. Keep expecting.

Today is not tomorrow. This year is not next year.

The sun will rise. The fog will lift. The page will turn. And what seems impossible now will one day become your testimony.

Because our God is not finished.

“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:6
